Exploring Every Detail of Hanoi’s Bike-sharing Network

Guide to Using and Important Notes for Experiencing Public Bike Sharing in Hanoi. The public bike-sharing service has officially launched in Hanoi. With just a few simple steps on the mobile app, citizens can explore the city’s famous landmarks with a unique experience. On August 24, 2023, the public bike-sharing service was officially launched in Hanoi. There will be 79 stations serving regular and electric bikes to serve the citizens in 6 inner districts. The stations are strategically located near bus stops, schools, government offices, or tourist attractions to attract people, contributing to reducing the use of personal vehicles. Step 1. Registration and App Download:

Step 1: Download the TNGo app on your mobile phone for iOS or Android operating systems.

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1552166916
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tngo

Step 2. Register for a TNGo account using your phone number in Vietnam by providing the following information:

  • Full name;
  • Date of birth;
  • ID card/Passport/Student ID number (if applicable)
  • Date of issuance, place of issuance;
  • Contact address;
  • Email address;
  • Enter the phone number registered on the TNGo app.

Step 3. Top up your account:

  • Load bike credits into your TNGo account using the “My Wallet” function on the TNGo app. TNGo supports topping up credits via electronic wallets such as Momo, ZaloPay, various ATM cards, Visa, MasterCard, JCB…
  • Confirm the amount you want to top up, select the top-up method, and follow the instructions provided by these payment gateways. Alternatively, make a direct transfer to the company’s account.

After completing the top-up process, the app will notify you of the successful deposit into your account, and you can start using the service.

Step 4: If you agree to use the service, users scan the QR code to unlock the bike and use it.

Step 5: After completing the trip, users return the bike to any TNGo station, manually lock the bike, and press the “end trip” button in the app.
